Tear Tester ( Elmendrof Type )

APPLICATION :

This procedure is used for measuring the tear strength of the thermoplastic films or non-rigid sheet. By this test method, we determine the average force to propgate tearing through a specified length of plastic film or non-rigid sheeting.
This test method is of value in ranking relative tearing resistance of various plastic film and this sheeting of comparable thickness.

USP

It consist of stationary & movable clamp
Stopper for holding the pendulum in a raised position & releasing it instantaneously.
Indicating device for taking the reading of pendulum swings when released.
Template die or shear type cutter for cutting specimen.
